@stevemark, I loved the one I had in the noughties on an 8 MP APS-H SLR, especially for theatre work (giving 2oo mm). Outside in sunlight, it was quite murky, and on a modern camera, it's probably more of a soft portrait gimmick. What I've seen, today I'd buy a Sigma Art, but on FF, I feel no need for the focal length at all.

Sure there are interesting application for such a lens ... when I was testing those 3rd party 1.8/135mm back then I though they might be nice for some portraits. Personally I pretty much like the Canon nFD 2/135mm as well as the Minolta MD-III 2/135mm. Both (at f2) are somehow soft at f2 (but with lots of detail), and contrast/flaring is better (for my kind of shooting) than with those 3rd party 1.8/135mm lenses.
Lenses such as MinAF 1.4/85 (let alone the Zeiss CY 1.4/85 or the Canon nFD 1.2/85) have too much purple fringing / too narrow depth of field / too low contrast wide open, and I prefer longer focal lengths for portraits anyway. MinAF 2/100mm has a relatively high contrast and low fringing wide open (better than Canon nFD 2/100). But that's clearly off topic now ...
