A friend gave me this lens, in a 3 speed Vario shutter, just a simple uncoated triplet, a budget item in a cheap shutter so not very exciting.

However, it performs very well indeed, so well that I'm going to put it in a more capable Compur shutter.

All wide open at f4.5. Kodak Panatomic-X film expired in 1968. I rated it at ISO 12 instead of the original 32 because of age it has lost a couple of stops of speed an has developed heavy base fog, so it needs a contrast boost. I developed it in Kodak DK-50 at stock dilution for 25 mins at 20C. Only PP is some contrast boosting and brightness tweaking as the fog makes the scans come out a bit lighter than ideal.

I think you did very well, especially with such outdated film. I wonder how adding a quarter teaspoon of borax would do helping with your fog?

Thanks everyone. I shall have to try the Borax one day as i have a lot of fogged old film.
