Does somebody knows the results for this one?

Have a chance to buy this one, its not the takumar but the K version with bayonet.

I have an SMC Takumar 85mm f/1.8 M42 and an another one with P/K bajonet I linked that. Perhaps mine is older than this one, but looks really close.

At the last camera fair a seller offered me this lens with M42-mount for € 80,-
But it had a problem, the A-M-switch did not work. I do not really care about that, so I asked him for a reduced price since the lens did not work properly. Wink
He said no, he wanted to fix it himself. Tough luck for me...

Maybe I should have bought it for 80,-

It is a good lens!

For 80 EUR this is a bargain if M42 version.

The guy asks me 240 euro for the K version, in mint condition?

I guess K version is less respected than M42 , for that price or a little more you can get M42 version. Mine K copy is crappy looking well used one I bought for 15 EUR, not good for price comparing.

Guido, with all due respect for Pentax, with 240 Euros you can buy a Leica Summicron-R 90, which will take you to another planet.

Guido listen to Orio. I don't believe this Pentax SMC 1.8/85mm good as Leica Summicron.

Sorry Guido I fixed your initial post label, the reason is better for people if know the subject from subject line and more better for search engines. Thanks for your understanding!

Hi Guido!

Here, Arnold Stark compared some 85s.
http://www.arnoldstark.de/pentax/aufloesung85er.htm

This might help also:
http://stans-photography.info/LongComments.html#85%20mm%20Summary

From that I've understand,
it seems the SMC-K 85/1.8 is "quite" an average performer (among the comparisons).
Nevertheless, as Orio said before rightly,
I wouldn't spend 240€ on a average 85mm,
but wait for a SMC Takumar 85mm. Wink

Best,
Hasan

Hi Guido,
it's from german dfn, isn't it?
As for the lens:
I have this one myself and it's more than only average! It's really a very good performer!
I remember that on dpreview there is a guy who has compared this lens with some other great lenses on a dslr and it was on par with much more expensive lenses!
I also have an old lens test from german ColorFoto from 1980 or so where this lens was one of the best, close behind Zeiss, Leica (90mm) and the expensive Canon/Nikon-lenses.
If you have a Pentax - you'll hardly find a better lens for that price.
I had the old M42-version but sold it because this K-lens performed better (sharpness-wise).
(I bought mine from another dfn-guy .....)
Smile Paul

I'm just looking for a good portrait lens to be used with my Ist Ds.

I'm not a collector, so the only thing that matters is performance.

Is this leica is better?

@ paul yes from dfn
