Is it best to leave the small gold 'passed' labels on lenses or is it okay to take them off. Personally I think the labels make the lens look tatty
I just ripped the label off a lens while cleaning it and not sure whether to re-stick it or not, whats the best stuff to get the sticky residue off the lens.

Those labels don't mean anything to anyone nowadays. Not on lenses with use. Collectors look more for the original box, caps, and paperwork so even if a lens was being sold as a like-new collectors item the lack of an inspection sticker wouldn't matter much. Little bit of lighter fluid on a q-tip with remove the residue.
