Confused I bought this lens on eBay recently and I'm trying to attach it to my NEX-7. But I don't know if I need an M42, M40, M39, or M40.5 mount? It is the 17 blade aperture Biotar. This lens probably came off of an old Praktiflex. It needs a male mount though. Check out the photos of it below.

Or maybe I can just buy a 40mm to 42mm filter adapter and then get an M42 to NEX adapter???

Is that what M42 stands for 42mm?

UPDATE:

I'm going to try this set up.

Biotar 2/58 lens

to

40.5mm to 42mm step up adapter (the biotar needs a male ring)

to

42mm to 42mm male to male coupler

to

M42 to NEX adapter

to

Nex-7

Sound good to everyone? Hopefully, it doesn't move my lens too far away so I can't reach infinity focus.

These are links to the photos of the lens.

Both possible, Praktiflex and M42 , I seen it only in M42 and Exakta.
