I took some sample shots with this lens today and here are the results. My model was my dog

First shot was a slightly cropped shot of him

and here is a severe crop of the previous photo

While this lens goes to 1/2 life size with good results, I just wanted to show that general photography with the lens yields good results as well...Other than cropping, no other PP was done

Scott
Long one of my favourites for portraits. It's a terrific lens. Nice shots of a very cute dog

Very nice Scott. Everybody should have a dog or two.

Very good results
Is this Vivitar a Kiron or Komine version?
Made by someone else?
Interested

Komine (Serial starting with 28 ).

It's very similar in style with the 55mm/2.8 Macro, and 90mm/2.8 Macro. All with 62mm filter. But the 135mm is only "Close Focusing" even though it can reach 1/2 life size. And unlike the other two, this one needs a hood.

I have the Vivitar 135/2.8 by Komine and it is a fine lens.
Not close focus though. Only focuses to 4.5 feet without an extension tube.
