Hi Attila.

I need your support.

Now I have:

- 24mm f2.8
- 40mm f1.8
- 50mm f1.7 (It's coming)

I'd like to have a prime lenses kit for any evenience.

I'm considering these:

50 mm F1.4

57 mm F1.4

85 mm F1.8

100 mm F2.8

So, what do you suggest for next lens ? in general, you exclude one of these lenses?

King Regards

Pasquale

All good choice, which one is come first take it, 85mm is better lens than 100mm.

She is a great model and look twin sister of my friend g/f.

The 40/1.8 is a great lens. Sharp and contrasty. I have now 5 or 6 of them, which is stupid, but, que voulez-vous, I never paid each of them more than 15 eur Rolling Eyes
Here's an old review from Dante Stella

You can go for a 50/1.4 with a cheap price, probably one of the best 1.4, equal or better than the 1.7 imho, with an extra stop.

Well I haven't used my Hexanon 40mm for over a year so took some snaps on film over the weekend...you can't go wrong for the price and for me Hexanon lenses gives something a bit special on film....dunno what it is but could be colours as I've noticed some lenses e.g. Vivitar, on average, seem to give a cool "blue" result.

Supermarket dev and scan, Fuji Superia 200

I agree that Hexanons are special on film, I have taken lots of shots with my 4/21, 2.8/24, 3.5/28, 1.4/50, 1.7/50, 3.2/135 and 3.5/200 that I think have stunning IQ and have impressed others too.

I still maintain the 1.8/40 isn't one of the better Hexanons though, I would never chose it over the 1.7/50 or 1.4/50 because the advantages of smaller size and lighter weight don't matter to me. Also, the 1.8/40 is of much lower build quality than the earlier metal Hexanons, not that it's not nicely made, just that the earlier metal Hexanons are very well made.

Well yes in comparison, the 50mms are a bit sharper, and only we (or the forum) would know the difference Wink ..but would add:- my experience of Hexanons with film is 99.9% with Fuji Reala and Superia 200 and they are a good match, one day I will buy some Kodak Portra and see if they like each other.
