My favorite lens... the one I always go to for some reason is my 24mm 2.8 canon S.S.C - I just love the S.S.C canon FD's... something about those red letters does it for me aesthetically... I have this lens in nFD mount too... but I dunno, doesn't work as well for me.

2nd favorite is My Pentax-M 50 1.4 I know I know, I have much nicer lenses, much more expensive... but this was my first nice lens so I know it well... and I love how easy it is on my pentax ME & ME super bodies... so Light and I can just snap away...

I shoot all Film right now and just picked up a Minolta Dimage SDII Scanner so I dont have ANYTHING scanned in yet... but so far here is my favorite picture with it...

NOW SHOW ME YOURS!!! sorry if this thread exists... But IF it does...lets get it going again anyway... why not?

Hmm, I really can't decide on a favourite lens, there are a few that have touched my heart.

Some of you might find this strange, but I really like my Meyer Optik Oreston 1.8 50mm

It's one of a bunch of lenses that I could call my favourite.

I've had so many nice images from this lens it's really hard to pick the best. This is a stand out for me though.

Hmm hard to say, I had several good candidates... Samyang 8mm F3.5.... Carl Zeiss Biogon 28/2.8 Contax G..... hmm.... and maybe more,... hard to decide which was my real favourite.

And it's even harder to select the most favourite picture made with it Very Happy

Here a sample from Samyang 8/3.5

(klick http://www.flickr.com/photos/54671350@N02/7099638379/in/set-72157626602263964/lightbox/ for more samples made by me)

If the Biogon would have been my first choice that would be the sample

Other good canditates: Rodagon 105/5.6, Noritsu 50/9.5, Leitz Summicron-C 40/2, Contax G Sonnar 90/2.8, Elmar-C 90/4, Minolta 24/2.8,.... and a few more

Oh crap I need a Biogon again Smile

Not strange at all. In fact, my Oreston has never let me down. (Really nice shot of yours, btw.)

Based on recent finished images, my new favorite lens for widefield Astroimaging is now the the Contax (Carl Zeiss) 100mm f/2. In actual 5-minute photos at f/2.8, the star shapes are better than with my prior favorite, the Contax 85mm/2.8 wide open. In short 15-second test shots, where stars were not as overexposed, the 85mm lens appeared sharper. In real shots, the 100mm wins out.

There's really only one full-length shot with this lens so far, so I guess it has to be my favorite:

But there is nothing like a Zeiss (in this case a Biotar 58mm f/2.0). . .

If not annoying you with my favorite lenses in each focal lenght (super Wide Angle, WA, normal - 50mm, short tele, short-medium tele, medium tele, short-long tele, tele, long tele, super-tele, mirror-tele...

Well let's start with a medium-wide-angle, for instance Nw, there are twolenses i prerfer: Pentacon 3.5/30 and Mir 1B 2.8/37

With the Pentacon:

... and with the Mir 1B, a shot handheld from inside my car in a moment of lucidity, trap in slow traffic at the road:

All really really nice!

Makes me glad I finally picked up a MILC. was looking for an NEX but found a deal on a e-pm1 I couldn't pass up. Only downside is I prefer shooting with UWA lenses. so now I will need 8mm samyang I guess, speaking of Forenseil.. I love both shots, the samyang one is great and so is the biogon. I can see why you had trouble choosing!

Frenched, love both of the shots...

all amazing stuff, lets keep it going!

I got the same biotar (m42) from a market about 3 months ago for $10.

I like it better than any of my helios 44s

Hoya HMC 28mm f2.8

It's hard for me to call an outright favourite, but I love my Pentacon 300/4, despite the weight of it.

My favourite image from it is probably this:-

If not the 300/4, then it's either the Pentacon 50/1.8 or SMC-M 50/1.7.

I love my Meyer Goerlitz Trioplan 100mm f/2.8 most:

Hard to decide on a image, casue I use this lens very often. I use it on my 5D and on the crop bodys - on the later I am not every time satisfied with sharpness. But sharpness is not that high rated in these kind of images.

as for manual lenses I love cheap pentacon 50mm F1.8

I have been looking at the vivitar... I enjoy the 28mm focal length a lot

How do you like it? Do you have anything similar to compare it to? or anymore pics with it?
