Since all my Mir (mir 1, mir 20, mir 24, mir 47) lenses are excellent for my taste, i was wondering about getting a mir 10 3.5/28.
The lens looks quite rare, so I'm seeking any kind of info: samples, likely prices, versions, known issues, etc.

I tried the search function, but couldn't find any thread, even if I was quite sure of having read something here.

Thanks in advance.

I'm a huge fan of the Mir 10A. Like I've said before, I think it's actually of soviet design too. It's an 8/7 e/g construction and I don't think it's copied from any German lens. Introduced in the late 70s and discontinued in the mid 80s. Nothing about it changed in that time aside from very minor cosmetics. I haven't used mine in a while but those are my film samples in the other post. Here's a flower close-up with it on the Sony digital. Great colors and good pop.

Ok, thanks: that's exactly the kind of opinion i was hoping to read.
I'll buy one as soon as I find it cheap enough.

Btw, beautiful shot.

Try to make an offer for this one (110 or 120 $ maybe).

Thanks olivier, but right now I'm negotiating one from a private seller locally that looks a bit more used - with clear optics - and that probably will come for 60-70 euros.

That's far better indeed. Wink

Gens.

Anybody can tell me if this lens can be used without mirror clearing issues with the EOS MarkII?

Thanks,

Renato

Hmmm...
Looking at the back of the lens, I doubt.
I'm not sure but I'm afraid it would hit the mirror at infinity.

To avoid this, you can take photos using live view or locking mirror up.

Well, thanks Oliver. For now, the only 2 wide angles i have a chance with the MarkII is the Pentacon-Meyer-Optik Lydith 3.5/30 with the back grinded, and the CZ Flektogon 2.4/35 - which i don't have yet. With MIR 1b M42 that's coming i'll have the same issue, i think, can you confirm this?
I received and sold in the same day the Takumar 3.5/30mm because this - i could grind this lens too but i did'n want to,

Thanks,

Renato

Well, I'm astonished by the Mir-1B.
I've just tested it.
At first sight, I thought my mirror should it... but it didn't !

So, I'm really not sure with the 10A.

In my wide lenses, the Pentacon 2.8/29, the Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 4/20 don't hit the mirror.
Pentacon 3.5/30, Flektogon 2.8/35 hit the mirror.
