Meyer Helioplan 4.5 40mm - my new aluminium acquisition in real world:

both subject together might have the age of the lens, but are in much worse condition Confused

sorry for the bokeh fans - you´re much better in doing this than me - but i confirm, the lens has it installed...all inclusive already 60 years ago even with only 4.5 it is smooth

I would really recommend to use this lens for bokeh shots. Helioplan is probably the only "modern-era" lens, which is based on the double-anastignat dialyte design, so its bokeh isn't common.

Whooooa! Im looking for a good 40mm. More more Smile
Is it M42 mount?

Yes, M42 , but pretty rare. There is a similar 40mm lens Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar also quite rare.

Latest one.

Early , perhaps pre-war.

see first photo in the sheet

got it like new with leather case and bot caps

here is a photo - i found some herbs with a lot of fine and 3D structure. Aimed to the middle of th bush with sharp parts and bokeh in front and behind. Hope you can see what it does in the photographed structure as well as behind it and far away.
shot a 4.5 RAW without any PP except resizing

A fine lens it is indeed. Have a coated and uncoated version now...(coated one shown here)

and it does great colors...
