Does this adapter exist? I have looked around a bit but cant seem to get a fix. I have read Attila's suggesiton of Kiev >Pentacon 6> 35mm DSLR mt. adapter . I would prefer to find 1 adapter between the lens and camera. _________________ kathmandu

There is an adapter from Kiev88(Salyut-S) to M42, Nikon and P6.
Check this site http://www.dvdtechnik.com/index.php?p=src&cur=usd
and search for 'Salyut-C Lens adapter'
I have used the M42 version and it was fine, good built quality. _________________ Stefan

I did check their page, The Hartblei page, Araxfoto, Rugfit and a few other pages.
Hey thanks for the link-I went back and checked ;they had a Kiev 88(Salyut- S) to Sony/Minolta AF, on their ebay page-so I bought it . Its going on an Old version Tair-33-I wanted to make sure there were as little separate parts as possible on the adapter .

Yes .. the Tair is quite big - I had it some time ago. You can check here how does it looks with my ex Pen-1 stacked on 'micro4/3-EOS' - 'EOS-M42' - 'M42-Kiev88' adapters.

Is there still anyway to get this adapter (Salut-C/Kiev 88 ->M42)? Can't find on Ebay, and link in this topik is dead .
I bought a little ring Salyut-S to P-6, but it just doesn't work http://www.ebay.com/itm/140708136766?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 (I wanted to mount it on P-6 -> M42 adapter). The ring is too large to fit to P-6 mount -.- .
So I'm looking for another way to adapt Salyut-S lenses... _________________ Pierre

Here is the link for all the adapters it is offering: http://www.dvdtechnik.com/?p=view&cur=usd&id=60&pn=1. I don't see the Kiev 88 to M42 though. _________________

There is adapter for everything (flange is so no problem) but rare and potentially expensive
maybe you get kiev88->m42 first and then adapt this
Some Pentacon lenses come with (Pentacon specific) backs for Exakta, M42, P6
I'd rather have the opposite: sony or m42 to kiev88, for macro work
and that's the reason why I don't understand your request - kiev lenses suck when compared to the best 35mm. Really. From lpmm data they suck so much that I'm not sure whether they even win decisively with 6x6 film 3xup factored in. Gotta run these tests. |

I don't think there are "best" lenses. But there are certainly best lenses for you. And I'm definitly not looking for "best" lenses, I just want to use some Kiev88 / Salyut-S lenses . _________________ Pierre
