I don't have a good eye for wideangle compositions and I messed up on this one. I had to rotate the frame and crop it a bit as it was leaning to the right (it still does, but much less). I still quite like the result. This lens is nice, very sharp. The film too, it gives great tonality and fine grain. Although the light was very flat so it didn't test the film. Developed in D-76 by the way...

This is also my first attempt digitizing film with a digital camera and not a scanner. I used the 80mm/2.8 Arax lens with 60mm of extension tubes on NEX-5. I got 20 shots (4 rows, 5 columns) which I stitched together with Hugin. This process gives amazing results (the final uncropped image is over 9000x9000 pixels large!) but it takes way too much time. For the other frames I'll use less extension (i.e. less magnification) and I think I'll still get more than enough detail.

From this POV, distortion is unavoidable. Better to accept it and not try to hide it.
A weak point can become a strong point if used expressively.
