Nice ones, Moira, and smooth bokeh. I think this is the same lens I have, the Auto Sears 1.4/55 made by
Tomioka. Heavy lens, but gives good results. Congrats!

Thanks Bill,I have had it sitting around for 2 years so thought I had better try it out.. Very Happy It is a heavy lens and the bokeh did surprise me.

Yes, its that one also sold as a Sears.
I have one also, and sold on a couple more besides.

Very nice, in many ways a better user than the Super Takumar 50/1.4 as it is bigger and the controls aren't as fiddly.
Image quality I find is indistinguishable from the Takumar.

Nice kitty. We have a tabby just like him.

There are several versions of Rikenon 55mm F1.4. I think Mo's version is different than Sears lens.

Fuunnily enough I was out with this lens last night, slightly drunk whilst using it as I was on my way home from a late Christmas lunch and needed a shot for dyxums week 50 challenge.
Its a great night companion.

Thanks, I seriously think the drink helped! First one is at 1/10!

I`ve seen many good night shots with this on flickr,it`s a smooth as the proverbial focus wise and easier to focus in the dark than the supertak as Luis said.

It`s also cheap as chips I`ve seen them regularly go for around £20-30 which for a 55mm 1.4 is outstanding value.

It would have to be classified as "in-body" image stabilization too.
