confederate rose, x100, tripod, natural dreary light, photos made over 24-hour period. chinese hibiscus, known here as confederate rose. the story has it a young csa soldier lay dying near a pink blooming hibiscus shrub, and his blood watered the shrub, turning each blossom as it died blood red. each blossom goes from pink to dead red in 24 hours. :
