Hey guys, I just picked up one of these in m42 mount at the local flea markets today.

Any idea who made it?

Possibly Sankyo.
It has some of that look.

I have the same lens in m42 mount but mine is branded Accura Diamatic.
I read somewhere that Accura Diamatic lenses were made by Sigma.
I have never used mine, is it good?

Looks like a Sun to me, from the lettering style.

Here are some example pics, this is just outside my house, I wasn't very imaginative.
The lens has a soft look wide open that improves a little stopped down. There is reasonable contrast and colours with the lens.
These have no PP (apart from the in camera settings)

The most interesting thing about this lens is that the close focus distance is 25cm or 0.8 ft. Could lead to some interesting wide angle macro shots.

Thanks,

Ben

Ian mentioned in his post that it looks like it was manufactured by Sun and I tend to agree with him.

Quite typical Sankor lens. Here the same: http://www.subito.it/fotografia/coppia-obiettivi-sankor-28mm-200mm-milano-44919751.htm
