I have for sale Pentax K2, ME, A3000, K1000, Spotmatic, SPII, Vivitar XC-3.

All the cameras are sold as-is. I suggest you assume all of them will need a CLA to bring them into full working order. If you have any questions about their condition, please ask. I do not have the facility to test shutter speed accuracy, curtain travel, or light leaks from deteriorating foam. Unless I otherwise specify, cameras have their battery and socket covers, but do NOT include a body cap (I’ll pack in a ziplock bag). If you see any bit of a strap, that camera includes a strap. Most, if not all of them, have accumulated some dust (or foam from the mirror pad) on the mirror or focusing screen and could do with a little cleaning there. Likewise most have a little dust in the viewfinder. A CLA will of course take care of all of this.

If for some reason you want a SuperProgram manual, I have a copy of that.

Shipping will be at actual cost with delivery confirmation based on your zip code. Most of the cameras will just fit into a Priority Mail Small Flat rate box if you want to chance it--there is not any space left for padding. Otherwise I’ll ship it in box with padding by first class or priority mail as you prefer. I will ship worldwide, but I do not lie on customs forms. International shipping without any tracking is at your own risk, but I will provide a scan of my receipt from the post office if that makes you feel better. I’ll also gladly ship directly to Eric or the CLAer of your choice instead of yourself provided you have made the appropriate arrangements.

Payment via Paypal or US Postal money order.

K-Mount Cameras:

Pentax ME (split-prism screen). $4. Heavy wear. Major ding/dent on the top plate by the advance lever. One minor ding on the bottom plate as well. The plastic knob to change modes from P to Bulb, etc. has broken off and you can’t turn the knob at all now (it is on P). The hotshoe has some corrosion on it, but it does not matter as you can’t set the camera to X anymore anyway. There is a little bit of play on the back left, and right where the back attaches there is a bit of rust. I did not expect the camera to work at all, but somehow it does. Shutter fires at all speeds (although the slow speeds are clearly too slow), the program mode is working as it should, and the LED-lit display in the viewfinder works. The foam all needs replacement.

Pentax A3000 (split-prism screen). $12. Light wear. Has the convenience of program and a motor drive, but still you get a nice screen. Everything is working as it should (again, I can’t vouch for meter accuracy, but I’d expect on a later electronic camera like this that it’s fine). The mirror pad foam could do with replacing. This model uses very little foam to seal the back, and so it seems fine there. So this camera should be good to use. Includes the original strap and a body cap. I’ll also include the batteries, which are currently working.

Pentax K1000 5256592 (micro-prism screen). $5. Hong Kong made. Shows moderate to heavy wear (this is only K1000 I’m selling with plastic top and bottom plates, and those show more wear). Viewfinder has some light scratching (not noticeable in use). Shutter is firing at all speeds. Light meter works. Flash hotshoe works. The seal foam is probably nearing the end of its life cycle (so too the mirror pad) but looks like it might still fully seal.

Pentax K1000 8428163 (micro-prism screen). $4. For Parts? Shows light to average wear. Shutter is firing at all speeds, but the ratchet action sounds and feels horrible (like the gears aren’t meshing right)—it had been working fine until I was testing while writing this. Light meter works. Flash hotshoe does not work. Missing one screw on the bottom plate. The seal and mirror foam need replacement.

M42 Mount Cameras:

Asahi Pentax Spotmatic (microprisim screen). $4. Average wear, but it is filthy with dirt. Battery cover is in terrible shape and light meter is not working. Interestingly, it has “B.P” stamped in a diamond on the advance lever, and another serial number on the back stamped in the metal (never seen a Spottie like this, but it looks professionally, if not factory, done). Might be an interesting purchase for the collector. FP and X port covers are missing. Foam all needs replacement. Shutter fires at all speeds.

Asahi Pentax Spotmatic II (microprism screen). $5. Moderate wear and its a bit dirty in places. M.A. Harbin scratched on bottom plate (not too noticeable). Right strap eyelet is a little loose. FP and X port covers are missing. It is very difficult to pull up the wind knob to open the back (I was able to do it without too much difficulty, though, with the help of the rewind knob). Shutter fires at all speeds (although the slow speeds seem clearly slow). Light meter works. Flash hotshoe works. Foam all needs replacement. Should be a great user after a CLA.

Vivitar XC-3 (horizontal split-prism screen). $6. A surprisingly nice camera with the M42 mount. Viewfinder looks huge. It is a Cosina rebrand. Shows light wear. Shutter fires at all speeds. Light meter/LED viewfinder display works. Flash hotshoe works. Foam needs replacing. Should make a great user.

Another round of price drops on almost everything. Except the A3000, I can't really drop the prices any lower; its not worth my time at that point. If you want to make me an offer for some or all of what I have left, feel free....

I'll entertain offers for what's left, in whole or in part. I'm going to be moving soon, so after one more week I'll have to withdraw whatever I still have for sale. Thanks!
