I have:

- One Asahi S-M-C Takumar 85mm/1.8 that which focus stop a bit before infinity.

- One Asahi S-M-C Takumar 50mm/1.4 that seems out of focus, is the only lens for which I need to adjust viewfinder dipoter.

Any suggestions/ideas how to fix this?

Hello,

I never serviced the Tak 85/1.8 (mine is like new Very Happy ), but i did some focus fixing on the 50/1.4.

Just browse to my blog Shooting with a Pentax K10D, then check the Featured Posts on the
right menu bar: there is a post titled "Fixing infinity focus on Takumar lenses" which should do the job Wink ...

Hope this helps ...

Best wishes for your fixing ...

Thanks!

I managed to fix the focus on the 85mm, so now I have infinity Smile

The 50/1.4 was ok - seemed I was missing focus becuase my viewfunder couldnt handle the shallow dof Wink Now I use LiveView for f1.4 shots instead.

Do you have photos or description how to open the Takumar?

I have the second version of Konica Hexanon 85/1.8. All metal build, looks like a Takumar.
I would like to gather info before I open it up. Thanks.

Usually, remove name plate and loosenthe three screws you find underneath.
At least, 35/3.5, 35/2 and 85/1.9 should work like that.

thank you all.

The Hexanon 85/1.8 is smaller in diameter. Unscrew name plate displays only the front element. I guess I need to unmount the whole aperture mech from the rear.
