Here's what I'm dealing with:


Anyone that has taken apart a Mir 1/1V or Helios 44/40 has encountered this thin back ring before. It holds the whole helicoid to the mount. I've taken apart tons of these things before but this one is proving to be impossible. I've tried everything from penetrating oils to solvents to heat to friction rubber wrenches. Nothing even makes it budge. All the grub screws are out.

I have no idea where to go from here. Any thoughts? Am I turning it the right way? Counterclockwise, yes? I would never even think about it but now I'm questioning myself...
