What lenses do you most want to add to your collection?

I'm pretty happy with my collection of lenses and there are only a few I would like to add now, got me thinking what others would like to add to theirs, not dream lenses if money was no object, but lenses you are actually looking to acquire when you can.

My list:

Konica Hexanon 2.8/15mm - Stunning lens, would be the widest lens I owned and I collect Hexanons.

Konica Hexanon 1.8/85 - Stunning lens, I sold the 85mm lenses I owned as they were good but not great.

Konica Hexanon 2.8/100 - just to round out my Hexanon collection.

Jupiter-9 2/85 - in Kiev/Contax mount, an early silver one for my Kiev II, I already have J-12, J-8 and J-11 so this one would complete the set and is a stunning lens in it's own right.

Flektogon 2.8/35 - the Werra version, I already have the Tessar and Cardinar for the Werra so want to complete the set (and also find a nice working Werra)

Miranda 2.8/25 - the widest lens for the Miranda Sensorex, to complete my Miranda collection.

Apart from those, I can't really think of much else I'm looking for, although Zeiss lenses in Contax/Kiev mount interest me greatly, I doubt they will come along in my budget range though Sad

I have more than I can use, but if I could choose, I would really like some more Biogons in the ZM line.

PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 3:29 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

I too have more than I can use, but there are a very small few that I am willing to part with, I culled all the lesser ones and ones that I didn't really love using. I am yet to try my J-12 on the Kiev, looking forward to it though, that will be my first taste of Biogon. ZM Biogons are sadly out of my reach (as is a nice M mount cam like the ZI, Hexar or Voigtlander) so a J12 on Kiev will have to suffice, but I suspect I will love the J12 like I love the J8.

Great wide angle lenses are never cheap so I consider myself exceptionally lucky to have obtained the Tokina 17 and Konica 21 and 24 as part of two very cheap job lots of Konica SLRs and lenses, otherwise I'd never have been able to afford them and be stuck to a cheap 24mm like a Sigma or Cimko for my wide action. I love shooting wide angles more than anything else and the three I mentioned are among my very favourite lenses and three I will never sell willingly.

Well, this could take a while....
Rokkor: 21, 24, 85, zooms(I might be picking up on Wed)
Nikkor: S 58/1.4, HC 85/1.8, PC 105/2.5
Canon SSC: tilt shift, 55/1.2 Aspherical, 85/1.2 Aspherical
Canon LTM chrome: 28, 50, 85(to go with my 35)
OM: 85
Pentax: S-M-C 35/2, SMC A 50/1.4(I might be picking up on Wed).
Zeiss: Flek35(I might be picking up on Wed), a set of CZJ's
Contax: A set of "G's" 21, 28, 45, 90 modified to fit into a donor helicoid.
Voitglander 15mm 4.5 Super Wide-Heliar M-mount.

That should do for now... I hope. Smile

Except maybe the Samyang 8/2.8 fisheye coming this summer, I hope it works well on my NEX-7.

Just one lens is required but almost impossible to find it locally.

Minolta MD 85mm f2

Well I can't go wider than 24mm on a 35mm film camera, and unless I see a lens going for a song at the boot sale I doubt I will get one because of silly prices.

Given price is no issue:
135/1.8,
500/4
600/..

Angénieux 70 210
Tamron SP 300 2.8
something like a canon 0.95 50mm Smile

PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 8:13 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

I also would like a Tamron SP 300 2.8 Very Happy
and can I add I am looking for the elusive Tamron 200F convertor.

A few more German/Russian lenses,I don't know their names yet but when I see them I will buy them... Laughing

I have been selling rather than buying in the last months.
And as far as my wishlist is concerned, I have a problem: all the lenses that I would love to add are way too expensive.
I would risk to get in serious trouble with my wife. Wink

OK, here it is, Carsten's wishlist:

- Leica Summilux-R 1.4/50 (latest version) for the 5D

- Leica Summicron-M 2/28 Asph. for the NEX-7

- Leica Summilux-M 1.4/35 Asph. (latest version) for the NEX-7

- Leica Summilux-M 1.4/50 Asph. (latest version) for the NEX-7

- Zeiss Sonnar E 1.8/24 ZA for the NEX-7

There is NO affordable lens that I have on my wishlist. I have everything I need - and more.

Wow, Carsten what a list! Despite of it is really crazy-priced those lenses are absolutely astonishing. Summilux-M 35/1.4 is not in my wish list because it cannot be used on 5D and - yes it's price is too much overpriced for me.

PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 9:37 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

I don't really feel the need for any additional lenses and am not on the look out for anything. But if I happened to come across a really great deal I would add:

Tokina 17mm
50ish 1.4 (don't really have a brand preference)

PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 9:50 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

My list would probably be:
Zenitar ME-1
Helios 40
Biotar 75 1.5
Helios 44-1
zodiak 2m-2
mir 51-m
fisheye takumar (the tiny one)

PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 9:52 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

I would like to add one of the ZK zorki 5cm f/1.5 "Russian Sonnars" to my collection. There are many lenses that I'd like to add, but none of them with the priority of the ZK Wink

PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 9:57 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

my wish list:
Helios 40-2 last version in M42 mount for the famous swirly "bokeh"
Rokkor MC 58/1.2 .... for fun Smile

PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 10:40 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

Not that i need more lenses but Smile
I'm planning to get at some point 3 more of the contax g primes: 45 planar, 21 biogon and 16 hologon.

And 3-4 af primes for the Pen: m.zuiko 2/12, panaleica 1.4/25 and maybe the new m.zuiko 1.8/75, and m.zuiko 2.8/60 Macro

Carl Zeiss Biogon 21mm Contax/KIEV

PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 11:10 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

Pancolar 75/1.4 M42

Silver Noctilux 50/0.95 ASPH

MINT copy of Industar-50-2 cyrillic version - my first MF lens and definitely one of the best Laughing

PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 11:37 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

Probably a Zuiko 55 1.2 because it's damn sharp and i'd love to have such a bright lens.
A bright wide angle lens, 24 or 35, which ever bargain comes first.
That Tamron 300 2.8 i could buy but couldn't due to low cash Sad

Some great replies here, cheers guys.

@ Excalibur - why not wider than 24mm? Purely on price?

@ Attila - I would love that one too!

@ Hari - I love my 1959 Collapsible I-50 so I can see why you want one, my 1966 rigid I-50 is great too.

@ fotomachi - I should have put that one on my list too, only reason I didn't is because I fear it won't come within my budget

@ Sirrith - I don't know the Zodiak and Mir you listed, is the Zodiak the 30mm fisheye for MF? What's the Mir?

PostPosted: Mon May 07, 2012 12:04 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

I'd like very much a biotar 1.5/75, but it's far beyond my present budget.
Maybe one day...

I have everything I need and more, but I am a curious cat. I'll happily add anything interesting that is underpriced. Which means that thousands of lenses can still be bought Smile.
