i get a contax yashica planar 50mm 1.4, 50mm 1.7 and a rolleiflex planar 50mm 1.8 hft. i prefere the rolleiflex planar 50mm 1.8 hft more because it's sharpest, lowest price (for me 30e) and get a closer focus than the contax 50mm 1.7 ( 45cm vs 60cm).

These can be found in M42 mount and may or may not be a Tomioka product.
Regardless, they are beautifully made and are a delight to use. Images are wonderful - sharp wide open, with creamy bokeh, and super sharp closed down.

That's what I was advising too. They can be Tomioka made and Cosina made, but either way they are BEAUTIFUL lenses, perfectly usable wide open. |

The problem is, it's almost impossible to kill a Takumar, whereas 55/1.4's are just not nearly as robust, and if your bargain arrives damaged, chances are it will stay that way. |
