I recently acquired a custom projection lens with the front of the barrel taken from a Russian KO-120 and the focus mechanism taken from an unidentified lens. It works at about f1.4, and 95mm. Here are some of the results. Note the significant spherical aberration, but I thank I am using this flaw to my advantage. Images taken in Northern India with a Sony A7r3.

Thank you! From what I understand, the lens itself incorporates two different lenses, so it is a kind of hybrid. The person who constructed it suggested that comparing to a telephoto, the specs had changed from the original settings of both lenses.

This is what the creator said about it:
Custom Modified Projection lens 95mm + GFX adapter for Fuji 50R,50S,100, 100s GF Fujifilm
(this is a very unique lens - only one in a world)
I create this lens from the two unknown parts (i found the focusing distance equal to around 95mm compare it with a 70-200mm lens)
Lens equal f1.4
video - youtu.be/3pZ3CN0C6V4
This is a very special lens (focus only in a middle frame)
in a good condition: Optics are Good with a light scratches on the glass (look at the pictures)
I shoot some samples on a Fuji 50R (camera not included in this auction)
this lens will cover a medium format sensor without vignetting (Fuji GFX) (look at the pictures)
I compare this lens with a Canon 85mm f1.2II and found that F stop (light transmission) will equal to f1.4
this is the very special lens (not to shoot everything)
the result will depend on the light and background (sharp and focus in a middle)
For the best result, you need to add some contrast and sharpness in Photoshop (look at the pictures before and after color correction in a Photoshop)
and use a long hood especially for this lens it very important because this lens not very contrast but it possible to bring the contrast to the normal level in a Photoshop (look at examples before and after) |

Cool/interesting images/rendering can come from the least likely of places/lenses, in this case, it's from a true Frankenstein of a lens, it has a sufficiently sharp centre and has a wonderful decay into softness...
I do agree with the seller that it's not meant for every shot, but if the subjects are well chosen, will result in something truly unique, congrats, I think more than a few shooters are envious of this lens not being in their collections, myself included.
You should add a picture of the lens to your first post.
Hope to see more from it. _________________ A Manual Focus Junky...

Thanks. I feel exactly the same way. When a lens adds to the art, rather than distracts from it... that is a definite keeper. I intend to post more examples of my work with this lens, and will take some images of the lens itself next time I do!
