Hi All

Picked up this lens from a car boot but I'm struggling to identify it, it has 8 blades apppears to be coated and has a ring which you turn to open the aperture for pre-focusing. 3rd Shot is at f2 and the 4th is at f4 unfortunately I couldn't go higher as a nasty grey day in the UK:

Helios 44-2, not a bad lens at all!

Looks like a Helios, wikipedia says that Ге́лиос is Russian for Helios.

My thoughts exactly, but this bears no resemblance to the other Helios 44-2 I've had, particularly the pre-focus ring which are not on the original Helios 44-Ms.

That would be interesting if it is, as I only paid £4 for it Very Happy

Looks exactly like my 44-3 except that it's missing the MC between the "Helios" and the s/n on the front ...

My 44-3 has s/n9005xxx

Nice find and a cheap one Razz

There aren't many sure bets in life, but a mystery lens with Cyrillic markings for 4 quid is probably one of them.

Actually the exact translation would be "Gelios". This is the last model of the 44-2 line. A nice lens, very comfortable. Smile
