For sale this Sonnar 2.8/180 multicoated by Carl Zeiss Jena.
Serial number: 9704808
Pentacon 6 mount (adaptable to all digital cameras)
lens released on January 6th, 1976
This copy is in excellent plus condition
The glasses are clear and without scratches, there is some minimal internal dust, like it's normal in a 35 years old lens.
Mechanically the lens is in excellent working order.
Lens comes with front cap and rear cap.
Please note that this lens is indeed multicoated, in spite of the fact that for some reason it does not carry the MC sign on the front
Either it was a stock of wrongly written front rings, or in 1976 they just gave multicoating for granted
(the other copy that I have for sale was made in 1972 and it's multicoated, and it's visually identical to this one copy here).
The price of this beautiful copy is 230
(the normal value of a multicoated copy in excellent condition is around 250 Euros)
I sell it at 230 because I need to cash.
For those who are not familiar with the lens, this is an historical heritage lens, the descendant of the Olympia Sonnar lens
which was made in 1936 and was the fastest long tele lens of the time (and such remained for quite a while).
This Jena lens is the closest to the original 1936 design, whereas the Contax copy (western Zeiss) was significantly redesigned.
I personally value this Jena lens on the same level as the Contax version, if not even better. Some people may disagree,
but that is what I think.
The price of 230 Euros must be additioned with the shipping cost (ask a quote for your destination)
For payment, bank transfer is preferred, but Paypal is also accepted, however with Paypal the total price (lens+shipping)
will be additioned of 4% as compensation for Paypal charges.
All questions welcome.
Here's some photos of the lens:
