You have seen only my very recent works...here's some of the older ones.
This is a small series I shot one night in the castle of Vigoleno. It was midnight, and all desert. 21 people live in there, but some only for the summer. And it was winter. All doors and windows were closed. I was the only living soul out in the castle. Well, I tell you: it was scary. I don't think I'll go there alone again at midnight.
The pics were taken with my Nikon FM2 and some VERY cheap VERY used manual lenses, the only I could afford then, as I was unemployed. It was sometime between 1994 and 1996.
I think the wider shots were taken with a Panagor 18-28 zoom.
I can not remember which film I used but I remember it was a 1600 Asa.
Of course I also had to use the tripod.
Thinking back, it was a stupid choice. With the tripod I could also have used a faster and less grainier film. But I am happy with the result.

It's only 8 km from my town, we can easily visit there when you come here. On Sundays, you can also go up on the tower and the highwalks, and photograph from there. There is no restriction on photographs, you can photograph as you want. _________________ Orio, Administrator

While scanning, I could have raised the gamma and let some detail in the black parts surface. But I decided to leave it that way. Sometimes, in a photograph, what you can not see is as important as what you can see. _________________ Orio, Administrator

Ah, I agree, I agree definitely!
We always have to remember this, as photographers, when we work. We f course have a tendency to make our works as techinically perfect as we can. But technique here would have imposed to bring up the shadows. And it will have killed the atmosphere.
So I say that we always have to remember, that for people looking at our works, it's not important how we are good technically, what counts is the emotion. _________________ Orio, Administrator
