Which m4/3 cam do you have? For the NEX, the 16mm 2.8 Sony lens is pretty good.
Or use a 28 or 35mm lens and stick an anamorphic adapter on it. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

Good choices, but after rereading the title I think he wants f2.8 or faster. _________________

Vivitar 24/2 (Komine) is nice and compact. Or the Zuiko 24/2 or 24/2.8.
My favourite in that range is the Nikon Ai/Ais 24/2.8, though the 24/2 might be OK on m4/3 too (soft in the corners on FF). _________________ Graham - Moderator

Where does he say that? I thought he said no larger than 24 mm . And he wanted to eliminate some lenses from suggestions? I cant be that crazy?
I must be going crazy-I see it in the title now. good catch Walt. _________________ kathmandu

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a GH1 and want to use it for short films.
I recently purchased the pentax 25mm 1.4 but just realized if I move the F stop to let's say 8, the vignietting gets to the point that I don't want to use the lens. At 1.4 it doesn't bother me but I didn't know it changes and now I can't return the lens. Maybe I can sell it on ebay.
What's the cheapest anamorphic adapter I can buy for my GH1 And will it work with any adapted lens such as the ones you guys mentioned? |

I wonder how Spiratone 17/3.2 performs on M43.
Lens has YS interchangeable mount. This one is for Pentax ES. YS mount lenses have T2 threads -- any T2 camera adapter fits, the YS adapters add only the aperture coupling for the camera. This is the last version of the Spiratone lens, contemporary with release of Pentax ES camera. The previous version has A-M switch. _________________ ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮ like attracts like! ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮

A c-mount lens should give higher quality results on the GH-1. I would not part with that Pentax unless you are really stuck for cash?
I am not an expert on video, and strongly suggest you check out the video section on mflenses? There are tricks to get around a small degree of vignetting apart from using the digital zoom, ETC on GH-2. By using a 12.5 c mount lens resolution will be higher than any 135 type lens, but then it will be slightly degraded by use of digital zoom to make it into a normal lens? The tricks revolve around shooting in 720p and then uprating to 1024 or vice versa, losing some focal length.
If you choose the 135 type lens, be aware of the possibility of smearing, caused by the lens reflecting too much light into the throat of the camera and interfering with the image. Using a baffle will tame the focus and smearing, should your lens be a bad example of this. _________________ ---------------------------------
