little different test this time, as i have 3 versions of Helios-44: Helios-44 , Helios 44-2 and Helios 44M-4. firstly three photos of the same motif to compare performance of each version. after that some more photos with 44M-4 version.

Do you find it at all challenging to focus these lenses? I do notice different points of focus in your images. I have three also; 44-2, 44-3, and 44M-7 and I do have trouble hitting the focus consistently.

I have the same issue with my 44M-6, but blame it on the fact that close up and wide open the depth of field is only 5mm.

that's because i took these handheld and not on tripod so i didn't take them from the exactly same place

Some bonnie shots there and ah recognise those defocused backgrounds well (have the same 3 lenses) - ye can't really describe those as comparisons though, when the shots are from different angles/distance.

distance is the same, i just changed the position of the flower in the shot so i know which shot is with what lens
