I used have an AF macro lens and kind of fell out with it and traded it for something else.

A year later, having decided I don't like the mount mechanism of Canon FL/FD lenses I seem to have developed an awareness for what good lenses they are (I still don't like the mount).

This was a recent EBay purchase, complete with original lifesize adapter and a non-original but very useful hard case.

These are first sample shots on the 5DII. Taken hand-held with an unglazed mount adapter and without the lifesize adapter.

Nice lens, nice results? Apart from some croppage there is very little processing going on here which suits me down to the ground - a sharp lens which takes nice images Cool Cool

I too was surprised by the Canon FD when comparing

Pentacon 50mm 1.8 vs Canon 50mm 2

The Canon fd to sony NEX mount I have is quite nice and there is a ring to switch between fully open and the selected aperture.
