Since getting an fd 85/1.8 a few weeks ago, I've fallen in love with fd lenses. I have just found locally a 35/2 at a great, great price and since I already have the Flektogon I'm wondering if any of you have both and can give me a summary of their differences. If the fd is good enough, I might sell my flek and invest in more fd lenses (a 24/2 and 50/1.4 probably).

I have FD 35/2 SSC, Flek 35/2,8 black & Flek 35/2,4
Flek 2,8 has shorter closest focus ( 0,18 ) flek 2,4 has 0,2 FD has 0,3
All sharp at wideopen, at least for me.
FD is weighter
In my opinion Flek 2,4 has better color & contrast, but different isn't really big deal

If I have time this weekend, I'll try side by side

IAZA thanks, I'll try them side by side and decide if I'll still keep the Flek.

Look forward your test, without knowledge of FD lenses I expect near same quality , minimal differences as IAZA said.

I know Flek 2.4/35 very well -- both version: for PRakticar and m42 mount

I can speak for FD lenses but not for FD 35 f2

My advice is: keep both ..

Stan thanks, I'll probably end up doing that. Especially since Fleks cost quite a bit lately, and getting a good copy again if I sell would probably be quite expensive.

I picked up the lens this morning, a few scratches on the front beauty rings, and quite a bit of tiny points (probably evaporated oil) on the second element, visible only from behind against a light.

It seems to be working pretty well, this is a quick shot on my NX10 taken five minutes ago on my balcony, at f2
