There is a new M->E mount adapter from Taiwan (for macro shooting),
here is the link > http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1042&thread=38833996

This adapter makes any M-mount lens, whose MFD is normally 0.7~1m,
to focus much closer as you guessed. Though it does not tell us how thick
the adapter is, guess around 14mm +/- 2mm.

Actually I already made such an adapter, which is more universal than Taiwan's,
using Sony E-mount body cap and lens' rear cap. It costs me 5 dollars. See >

Mine has 13mm thickness, I could make 12mm thick one but did not bother it.

without adapter, Contax G Sonnar 90/2.8 can focus to 1m @f2.8

with this DIY adapter between NEX body and G->E adapter + G Sonner 90mm, it can focus to 0.55m @f2.8

My DIY ext. ring can mount any E-mount lens or adapter. Cool

Note: I made a hole in this adapter to lock on the camera, and mechanically fairly strong.
There is no lens stopper, but it tightly mounts the E-mount lens/adapter, no worry for dropping
your precious lens. To make this ext. ring you have to glues them after making a large hole
for each body and lens rear cap of course. I can sell this $100 for each, anyone? j/k Very Happy
