It's a great little lens (quite little in fact). You paid a bit more than average but not much.
Shoot it and recover some value.
I love most all of the old canon rf glass.
No flops really in the entire catalog. |

TY for moral support!
I figured:
Free Shipping = 10usd anyway.
Includes Case
Includes viewfinder---that's got to be worth something.
If the glass really is clean....
Canon museum only lists two versions, but then I read there are in fact something like 7.
I will shoot the hell out of it in the backcountry

Well, the Canon RF lens certainly seems to be doing a good job. I don't think you paid too much for it because not only did you get the caps, but you got the case and especially the viewfinder. I suspect a 100mm VF is harder to find than 35/85/135 ones. Probably easily worth $30-40 by itself. _________________ Michael

you are right, it's a 73. No rust. Sold in Idaho, lived in California (the car)
Now, lets go back to 1955:

Do you by any chance have the 100mm f/4 in that book? I just bought one, and wouldn't mind reading what they had to say about it. _________________ Michael

here's the complete documentation I have
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102055
lot's of fun to read through, but alas the 100 f/4 is not in either brochure, that I can see.
Perhaps the 100 f/3.5 superceeded the f/4?
BTW that lens is easily had for 100USD or less and is superlight and sharp.
e.g the lightest version of the 4 is 355 grams, while the 3.5 is 205! Yet it is a more complex lens. Not to say the f/4 is bad: I think it's like a really nice jupi 11, and I bet the build is very sweet. You better post up a pic. Is it like this?

Yep, that's it. A bit blurry for the 100, but it gets the point across:
I found mine in an antique store recently, complete with the finder and case. I haven't finished the roll of film in the camera yet. Need to do that real soon now. I'm figuring it should be a good performer.
BTW, that's a brilliant looking pic you just posted. _________________ Michael
