Well , it's 8MP and imensely bulky . 1.5 Kilos !!! How does it performes vs the 5D ? It's one of the variants for a cheaper big sensor body (1.3 crop - 17mm would be as 22mm )

Image quality is similar according to DXOMark, with the 5D having better high ISO.

1D is bigger, has weather sealing, better AF (AF? Who needs AF? Laughing) and faster continuous shooting. 5D is smaller, newer and with a bigger sensor.
