Does that have a center hotspot? No joke, honestly. Gets more prominent usually when stopping down.

Great shots as alway Peter!

Thanks Klaus! Believe me, that is not a center hotspot, but a sunlit patch in the grass; to the left there is shadow.

Ok, I was just wondering, as I had an unpleasant surprise with a EUR3600 lens the other day ...

Yes, I saw that... Never encountered that phenomenon with any of my lenses though.

It mainly occurs in IR and UV, very seldom in VIS - but I don't want to hijack your thread Peter.

That bokeh the 83mm has is very special; quite a signature.

20 Euros in The Netherlands? Maybe 5 years ago or if I find a misrepresented or hidden one, but those times are long gone by Wink

By the way: I already have the Trioplan. In fact I have two of them (in M42 and Exakta mount).

In last three years I bought
3 Trioplans 20 euros each
1 Triotar 5 euros

You should go to Car Boot Sale
Vlooienmarkt
Rommelmarkt
in The Netherlands.

Marktplaats.nl prices are much higher (actually).

Believe me: I always attended flea markets and the likes, but cheapskates as the Dutch are we don't have many people who bought the "more expensive" stuff. So in years and years I have never seen a single Exakta or Rolleiflex, but I did find the odd Retina and Rolleicord. I never made any good finds on flea markets, but I did on Marktplaats (provided that you know your business).

I'd like to stop this discussion as we are going offtopic. Maybe you could start your own topic about overpriced manual focus lenses and your ideas about super cheap replacements. I'm never too old to learn Laughing

For the end:

Manual Focus Lenses are not overpriced indeed

They are cheap (Because of that this forum exists)

Only collectable (rare) lenses are expansive, like all other
collectable things like postamps, antique ...
