Had to take the Patong Beach pic down, an eyesore. Too bad, because
the picture shows what it looked like before the tsunami.



This is the veranda off the old rooms at the Hides Hotel, Cairns. The
part I stayed in was built in 1885.


Tried some scanning ideas I got from Laurence's post for the veranda
pic; might experiment some more with that one. These are taken with an
Olympus Stylus 35-70 P&S (sure wish it was the Oly 35RC!).

Thanks, Attila, I finally got the scan to where it looked like what I saw
back then, it was too bright before, as this was taken late afternoon.
Here's another scan from a print, hookah (Bahrain).
