Attila has learned his proper place in the family structure! Very Happy

Now, in my case, I think we ALL know that I wear the pants in the
family. What I say to do, everybody hops up and DOES it!

(after I ask permission from the women - - please don't let anyone
on the forum know of this)

Laughing I did learn priority order from my father

1) kids
2) wife
3) last me Laughing

This is probably right and we keep it with my wife happily.

bird is just a sister of my daughters, they are love it same than a human brother.

Great video, Attila. So nice to see Kakapo moving Wink

That NEX cameras should be taken seriously into consideration.
Which lens did you use for these videos?

Regards.
Jes.

the NEX certainly is a very very interesting camera for manual lenses, and as far as I could try and was told manually focusing is great! - and the sensor is good too.

I must say however that I found this Video of lovely Kakapo a bit disappointing because of the many artefacts at movements, also when Kakapo is moving. I think I still would prefer the video of even a cheap SD ( standard definition ) camcorder.

Attila you made a very very good conversion for youtube.
I would be very interested to know how you converted.

Attila thank you for showing,
any info on conversion,
and best greetings and regards,
Andreas

The artifacts are from the high level of mpeg4 compression.

The video looks very good generally even the light is poor and it still looks OK. Btw if you plug the camera to a Bravia TV it looks way better Smile

Very cute bird we enjoyed watching it a lot Very Happy

I have a digital DV camcorder from Sony ok it's 10 yrs old already, this camera perform better at low light.

I did upload to Flickr not to Youtube, Flickr did conversion from genuine mp4 , I didn't make any conversion or processing.

thank you Attila.

oh yes, of course flickr, not youtube.
seems that flickr does a very good automatic conversion.

I am really a big fan of the video capabilities of APS-C and FF sensor cameras ( specially those which take old manual lenses Wink )
narrow dof in video used to be reserved to very expensive cameras only.

Therefore I wonder about the artefacts: do you agree with std that the they only show because of the mpeg compression?

At low light like these videos , quality is not same than on bright sunshine, naturally conversion is not help too much. With manual lenses , problem is how to keep always right focus especially on moving targets at low light where you can't use deep DOF. I did try Konica 35mm to capture video , result was worst than with AF lens.
