I jusk got the word that a Nikon 300mm f/2.8 was out for sale...
This is a picture of the actual lens:

I only got this one picture, but it is described as the glass is in very good condition, just a few very small dust spots inside, the outside has som user marks and some paint chipping. Everything works.

And the price; 1500 Nkr, that is about 253USD....

I find that price very good, and I have said that i will buy it. Can anybody tell me if that is a good price, and anything more about the lens?

I got one several years ago (in good cosmetic shape) for about $800 from KEH, so your price sounds great.

About the lens:

- As you might expect, it's pretty heavy

- The build quality is great

- For astroimaging, the field is pretty flat, but there is some chromatic aberration (compared to an APO refracting telescope)

$253US is an exceptionally good price for that lens. If I ran across one at that price, I'd buy it immediately. Even if it had patches of fungus inside, I'd still probably buy it at that price!

Price is ridiculously low, count defects or perhaps it is a stolen lens.

With IF it focuses quite easily with just a flick of a finger....

Nikkor 300mm f2.8 IF-ED N (final manual focus version)
