I have ordered a Sony NEX5 and would like to use it as a M39-camera I would like to ask for recommendations regarding some of the finer lenses available in this mount, especially for the 50mm+ lenses. Other requisite is that they need to have an aluminium body
I have already bought:
Industar-22
Industar-26M (2 versions)
Jupiter-8
I'd appreciate recommendations for the tele-range, say from 85mm and upwards. Can be Leitz lenses, ruskiglass, ... Important are also decent quality (I'm not asking for miracles though) and size. I want to use it as a small and unobtrusive system that I can carry with me at all times.
Thanks to all in advance!

From russians on m39 the 4/135 is nice and it has the sonnar bokeh.
The name is Jupiter - 11. Maybe not so nice as M42 4/135 Sonnar but almost 2 times smaller.
The industars and jupiter 8 are OK .. not exceptional..just OK.
From Juiter-8 the silver one is better than the black. The black one has a multicoating but not that sharp and also has a focus shift when you change the aperature.
There is also the Jupiter 9 - 2/85 but havent searched for one since i have the G 2.8/90 Sonnar. |

Those m39 are not genuine range finder lenses.. they are for SLR so are bigger and heavier. |

Jupiter-9, Industar-26, Jupiter-8 earliest as possible with cm mark and RED P.
sadly Jupiter-12 goes too deep into body, it works with film only.

I like the idea of the NEX for dedicating to RF lenses, but is there a price/performance advantage with RF lenses? _________________ Regards,

As mentioned, M39 lenses are for SLRs with ~45mm registration. L39 / LTM lenses are for RF's with ~29mm registration. Are there price/performance advantages to any of these? Probably not anymore, not with more NEX and m4/3 owners learning about them and driving up demand (and prices). I sold off my LTM's a few months ago. Wow, if I'd held them a little longer, I could REALLY rake in the cash!
Most of the aluminium lenses I've encountered could use a CLA -- they tend to be sticky. Are they worth having? Undoubtedly. Maybe I can afford a few more before I die. _________________ Too many film+digi cams+lenses, oh my -- Pentax K20D, K-1000, M42s, more

Personally, I don´t really care much about the price/performance
The idea of a simple yet versatile system awakened my creative interest and as long as I can pay it, that´s fine I already have a D700 with fine glass, but it´s not a system that I wish to carry with me at all times. _________________ :::[ f o t o m a c h i . M X ]:::
