I know we have Eastern European members. So, where can I find examples of female nude/glamour photos taken in the 1960’s or 1970’s in the Eastern Bloc countries? It doesn’t have to be famous photographers. I’m more interested in the style/look/poses/fashions/overall feel. My father worked for a West German company in the 70’s and we’d sometimes get photo materials from the East arrive at our house [in the UK]. I remember there being an art book with black and white female nudes taken by Polish and East German photographers. It had been printed in West Germany but all the photographers were from the East. The photos were simple nude/lingerie but had a different look to the Western stuff. I thought that a Google search would pull up lots of history of the female nude in Eastern Europe and I’d find some photos online taken in the 60’s or 70’s [my favourite period especially the early to mid seventies]. But I’ve searched more than once and can’t find anything except male nudes which I’m not interested in. So, can anyone help? I don’t know what the legal situation was in the 70’s in these countries as regards nudes but they must have been taken and there must be some surviving materials. |

I have this book of B&W nudes by Lithuanian photographers. It actually happens to be published by a German printing firm, maybe it's the book that you talk about:
