stunning, bravo!
i have to say though, that ive seen images from this lens on cameras other than 5dII and they were not this high IQ; very good, but not these results. maybe i have not seen enough of a sampling...but i am very impressed by your images. _________________ Epson RD1 + Elmarit 21/2.8; Summarit 50/1.5; Summarit 75/2.5; Elmar-c 90/4; Sankyo Komura 135/2.8, Hektor 135/4.5; Braun Paxina 29 6x6; Photax Boyer Paris; Holga 120 Pano

Stunning samples! That doesn't amaze me as the 5D is a FF camera and the lens was intended to be used on FF. So I would think that it performs better on FF than on APS-C or 4/3.
Thanks for sharing, although I would have liked bigger photos _________________ Peter - Moderator

If you have any idea please let me know - thanks!
A step-up-ring ø 66-67 would be the best I think .... |

66-67
I need one also. Adapted one of the filters to work but it's not perfect.
Although now that I think of it. The 40-2 has a 67mm right? _________________ Moderator |

For those with the original Helios 40 with the 66mm filter you might try ordering a 67mm collapsable 3-stage rubber hood. These are available readily on ebay. Once you get it, remove the filter ring (the rubber hood is stretched over the filter ring and fits into a groove, they are rarely glued), and stretch the rubber hood over the lens barrel. I've been using mine that way for years and it works like a champ. Mine's never come off and while it doesn't offer any physical protection, it proves useful in reducing the flare this lens is so apt to show. |
