yes,it was a great find, i guess the price was due to the fact that it has one small spot on the lens, but to the outside rim of the glass so it doesn't influence it's usability, especially on Oly dSLR

Looking foward to the Soligor tests. Is the Soligor 200 2.8 the Sun version or the Tokina version?

Lokihg foward to the Soligor tests. Is the Soligor 200 2.8 the Sun version or the Tokina version?

i have no idea who made it.it's serial is 3802931 MC SOLIGOR tele-auto, has 72 filter thread, nikon mount

edit: looks like it might be Sun version, and 135mm is Tokina made
found on japanese site about olympus 3rd party lenses pix of both versions and there for the lens that looks like mine says it's Sun made (seems that Sun used MC designation, and Tokina made has C/D on it). and Tokina made version of 200mm/2.8 has the same design as my 135mm/2 Soligor

Cool. I was hoping it was Sun made.

PostPosted: Sat Aug 07, 2010 10:26 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

why? is it better version?
as i see from that site difference in specs are these:
Sun has 72mm filter , 5 lenses in 5 groups, and minimum focusing distance 2.5m, weight 700g
Tokina has 77mm filter, 6 lenses in 4 groups, 2.2m minimum focus, weight 760g

C/D is supposed to be better, as it is said on the japanese link ; I've the same soligor as yours, untested yet.
Lucky you on the oly 90 ! I'm still lurking on this jewel, looking after a decent price.
