Bokeh : In photography, bokeh is the blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image, or "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light. (wikipedia)

Hi all, I want to share with you in this thread, experience with strange, weird, and uncommon bokeh lenses. Not just "good" bokeh, there is a lot of thread about the best bokeh lens, but strange one.

Please post here your picture with the complete name of your lens it will be of interest for many of us (I hope)

(my apologizes for by bad english, I could write better in French, but I guess that there are more English readers here than French one Wink )

Lets go Laughing

you've forgotten to add this from the same source:

Origin:
The term comes from the Japanese word boke (暈け or ボケ), which means "blur" or "haze", or boke-aji (ボケ味), the "blur quality". The Japanese term boke is also used in the sense of a mental haze or senility.

Great idea for a new topic! There should be an epilepsia warning in the topic subject field Laughing

A lot of these lenses give so ugly bokeh I honestly don't understand what photographic use they are good for other than photographing your mother-in-law.

My alltime favorite for hair-raising bokeh is the Meyer Görlitz 100/2.8 Trioplan, see here http://www.flickr.com/photos/kellysereda/3650959866/

Prediction: soon somebody will play 'ring around the rosy' with their worst mirror lens Laughing

Rollei 1.4/35 has a triangular stop down bokeh.

Industar-61 L/Z has a star-like stop down bokeh.

You can create your own bokeh too. Wink

Maybe the OP should mention that YOU HAVE TO SHOW IT IN AN IMAGE and not just mention that "I have heard that a friend of my sisters nephew heard that there is a lens...bla bla" Wink

Thanks for reminding me..

Here shots using my CELESTRON 250mm mirror lens - donuts anyone?

PostPosted: Sun Aug 01, 2010 8:11 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

I really like the yellow coneflower photo with 'rainfall' of doughnut bokeh background!

The single well-defined ring with the roses is very clever! Very Happy

PostPosted: Sun Aug 01, 2010 8:17 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Well, these shots were "designed" to bring out that ring-shaped bokeh, but the one in the roses was a pure coincidence! Great also for purely graphic effects...
