I have one of these on the way and could not seem to find any information about it. I have seen a few posts about the 135/3.5 version. Does anyone have any experience with the 2.8 version?

From what I have seen the 3.5 version seem to be a good performer. I hope this one is also. It looks to be a tokina. |

Hanimex of course was just a marketing company. They sold lenses made by various Japanese manufacturers.
I think this and some very similar lenses (I have a 200mm of exactly the same style in the "Lentar" brand), under various other brands,
were made by Tokyo Koki/Tokina, from the same early automatic series as the Soligor and Vivitar T4's.

I was just looking for something on the telephoto side with some speed to it. My current lenses that are capable of this focal length are AF zooms. The widest aperture that they can open to at that focal length is 5.6. |

I just buy one yesterday , but a more modern aspect, I will post pictures when I will take time. I also bought a Hanimex 28mm 2.8, and a Fujinon 50mm 1.8, all in M42, in a set with a Fujica camera. for the high price of 15€!

Both is distributor brand (the same) but lenses are from different manufacturers. Your Hanimar seems a bit like Sankor made. _________________ ---------------------------------

Should arrive next week ... I wonder how it compares to OEM 2.8/135mm lenses (especially the Minolta MC-I/MC-II) from the same time frame.

Yes, after 11 years, i can certainly confirm my Sankor assumption was wrong . _________________ ---------------------------------

That Tokina made lens was the Mamiya/Sekor 135/2.8 for the TL/DTL cameras. _________________ In Search Of "R" Serial Soligors

The 28 and 35mm lenses for that range were also Tokina, and at likewise for at least the 35 and 135 ES lenses too. I think by the time they released the SX lenses they went to a different design.
I have the lens from the original post as a Lentar, it's also the same as the Tokina made T4 Vivitar and Soligor lenses from that period. Everyone and their dog sold this lens under their own badge. It's a fairly well made and designed lens, close to very good in IQ in my opinion. |
