Cosmos atrosanguineus - why so red on LCD/monitor?

Hi all!
Cosmos atrosanguineus, a.k.a Chocolate flower, looks
dark brown to the human eye, but I have never managed
to capture its colour digitally. Every shot becomes far more
red, irrespective of time of day and amount of sun.

I am puzzled. Why? Because the camera's sensor is much more
sensitive to the red spectrum than my eyes are?

It could be that it reflects lower infrared to a large degree. I photographed some blue flowers many years ago and they always came out a purplish colour.

I google Cosmos atrosanguineus and I got a lot of chocolate one so I guess it is possible to make it

now if this one look red, it is time to upgrade your monitor
