On my blog I'm posting some articles that will give an overview about the various accessories used to modify the light.

I started with scrims (http://en.foodografia.com/2010/01/food-photography-light-modifiers-part-i.html) which are the simplest of them all and today I posted about softboxes (http://en.foodografia.com/2010/01/food-photography-light-modifiers-part.html).

The plan is to continue to show the other accessories (like beauty dish, barn doors, fresnel lenses) then an overview about reflectors and flags so to have a basic foundations from which to start when you read about lighting techniques. I found out that most sites (Strobist for example) starts from the assumption you already know some studio lighting techniques and instruments and this is not the case most of the time.

I remember how much time I spent browsing the net just to find out what the hell Strobist was talking about... so I hope my articles could be of some help for the few of you that are in the same situation as me in the past.

The links above are for the english written articles, but there is also an italian version (Orio Wink ), just go to Homepage (http://www.foodografia.com/) of my blog and you'll have all the contents at your fingertips.

Just to keep you informed that I posted a couple of another articles about light modifiers and their logic behind.

The most recent one is here http://en.foodografia.com/2010/02/food-photography-light-modifiers-part.html, there is also an italian version for the few of you that speak my language Wink

I tried to talk the simplest possible even if it's not always so easy considering the subject.

Thank you Alessandro!Interesting read.
I'd say more interesting than strobist stuff.
But the light is so damn expensive.
