Photographing with Helios-40 or Helios-40-2 is a one of a kind experience.

Hi Orio and Attila,
Do you think is better than the Jupiter-9?.
I'm looking for a 85mm lens to fill in the gap...
Which are reasonable prices for them?
Thanks in advance.
Jes.

Yes they are better. Look at the price guide at mflenses.com, currently I have an almost mint Helios-40-2 85mm f1.5 on acceptable price in my Ebay shop.

I sold my previous copy for 199 GBP so this is not a cheap lens.

In my opinion, the Helios-40 and especially the Helios-40-2 are the best 85mm lenses ever. I mean that I rate them above the best 85 or 90 mm lenses.

Fair price... depends on condition and on the accessories, but Helios-40 should range from 100 Eur (good price, what I paid for my first copy) to 150 Eur (average price), and the Helios-40-2 from 150 Eur (good price, what I paid for my second copy) to 250 Eur (average price).

Bob, if you ever find yourself in a situation where you have to sell
this lens to help fund a growing cocaine habit, or pay off some gambling
debts before you lose your legs, keep me in mind won't you, thanks!

I'm kiddin', Bob, honest. Wink Some very nice shots here!

Bill

Thanks Attila!. I'll keep an eye on it. My buying queue is longer than my pocket... Currently I'm bidding for a couple of true rangefinder cameras, a Jupiter-9 and with the eye on a Summicron-R 90mm and now to your Helios-40...
Best regards,
Jes.
