And have we found something? Here are my purchases (total price below 100 euros):
- Kodak Retina Reflex III with Schneider-Kreuznach 50mm f/1.9 Xenon (DKL mount)
- Schneider-Kreuznach 45mm f/2.8 Xenar (DKL mount)
- Asahiflex Bellowscope with 135mm f/4.5 Fujita (37mm mount for the Asahiflex)
- Some pre-war photography shops booklets/brochures with guilder prices).
The DKL lenses are interesting because I usually find they are still fairly cheap (for as long as it lasts). The Schneider Xenar and Xenon will be compared to the Voigtländer Skopar and Septon.
The Asahiflex Bellowscope is nice. Not only because it's an item I didn't have in my collection, but because so many Asahiflex goodies came with it. There are two Asahiflex extension tubes on it, and also a M37 mount 135mm f/4.5 Fujita (the smallest 135mm lens for a 35mm SLR I have ever seen). But a nice touch is that there seems to be an original and rare Asahi M37 to M42 adapter ring installed! I only found out about that when I was back home.
At the end of the 60's they knew how to design cameras. However, the Kodak is definitely over-engineered. You don't wanna know what happens when you trip the shutter button!
The Asahiflex Bellowscope. The adapter ring is engraved with "Japan".
The Fujita on the camera it was intended for: the Asahiflex.
The 50mm f/1.9 Xenon looks very classy on the Pentax *ist DS.
The Xenar doesn't look bad either!
Bokeh wide open of the 45mm Xenar...

Thanks! Yes, they look good, don't they? But the Fujita is definitely very dirty in and out; I'm going to clean it. I'm interested in how it performs. More on that later! _________________ Peter - Moderator
