Definitely.
Do be careful of the combined weight on those glass shelves.
Someone recently had one of them give way with resulting damage.

I think the key is that your wife should also be able to have a problem of her own of similar magnitude, if she wants. If it's all you, then that can indeed be a problem. Unfortuantely I have three such problems (lenses, books and comics, to a smaller extent) and my wife has none. And as much as I have tried, she doesn't want one!
As I'd like to stay married, I'm paring back ... at least that is the plan ... but there's always somehow something in the mail on it's way here. _________________ In my bag: Sony A7II - Olympus OM 21mm f/3.5 - Minolta M-Rokkor 40mm f/2.0 - Konica Hexanon 57mm f/1.2 AR - Olympus Zuiko OM 100mm f/2.8 - Pentax 135mm f/3.5 |

More shelves leads to even more equipment, i know.... been there! A lot of my stuff is in crates, i'd need a complete room to put everything on display i'm afraid.... but i started selling a lot of it, which does feel good in a way! (the bad thing is that i spend that money on other camera-stuff again.....)
Btw: my wife does not complain. She sort of collects high-heel shoes, which are mostly displayed in our bedroom, and i don't even want to start about all the space her horse riding equipment takes..... _________________ My Flickr photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chantalrene/

Yes the problem you have is it's a mess!
You need to sort it from small focal lengths to large, (in mount format of course) and you need to have them so they can all stand up right. Otherwise, how can you agonise over which lens to take if you first have to find rummage around to remember where it is.
So given that, yes I do believe a better shelving system is required.
I've been eyeing off something like this..
http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/S39020506/
But for the mean time, Exhibit a)
See how nice things are when they have enough room to stand freely You will have to excuse the Tair, they seem to get along alright either way. |

It suspect it's probably the Helios that came with the Start SLR. It has a M39 mount. _________________
