I admit it: shameless luck. I can't take merit for the focusing. I quickly adjusted it but really just hit it luckily.
Even the slight motion blur on the tips of wings ended up perfect, not too much and not too little.
What is impressive for me is that the pidgeon was flying at 30 mt altitude. I was on the highwalk of the castle, and the tower is tall 30 mt. The bird was landing on the roof of the tower. I didn't think that pidgeons could fly that high.
One cute thing to notice is how it presses its legs against the body to obtain the most aerodynamic position. It's not exactly slim (I think we could say it's quite a fat bird), yet it manages to fly without any problem.
Nature is really amazing, even in the most everyday animals such as the pigeons.

Yes, I had luck 
One thing that impresses me, is how majestic a pidgeon can look because of the tele lens, which makes it look bigger than life, if it was dark brown I'd say it could be a really big predator bird!
