Can I have a glass of whatever you've been drinking?
I went down the Sekonic route with the L-358 & the L-208. I think my Canon meters better. _________________ Casual attendance these days |

No, it doesn't light up, but I pack a small flashlight with me for night
shots, anyway, to see film advance numbers, etc. I was thinking of
rigging it for a wristwatch, it is almost that small. |

When I was thinking of getting a small meter to carry when using a meterless camera I was tied between the Gossen & the Sekonic Twinmate. They both get good reviews but one of the comments was the Gossen eats batteries. As the Sekonic came up at the right price I went for that. I already had the L-358 but you have to change bits to go from reflected to incident which is a madness.
My skill with them is not that great yet. _________________ Casual attendance these days |

It's indeed a little nice piece of equipment. I own its bro, the digiflash, which is even capable of flash reading. I can say it's is a reliable unit, does even incident metering and fits in my trousers front pocket or the shirt one. I have only one complain: the battery life. There is no power switch, so the display it's always on. Even if kept unused in its pouch the battery lasts less than a year, I thus advice removing the battery when you're not foresee to use it in a while.

The one thing I hear about the Digisix is it sux batteries, but they are
cheap on the 'bay. What got my vote is it is one of the best in low light

my problem all along. Incident metering is far more accurate.

Any tip for using this light meter in the night would be appreciated.
I have problem in the night shots with the digisix's measuring range 0-18 ev [iso100] .
This meter is very good but for night shots I would prefer this one...

That is another nifty Gossen you have there, and takes an AA battery,

Ask Nikonians, but don't trust them....
And don't forget the contrast measurements.
Contrast measurements
– Use the Function button to select the
function "EXPOSURE".
– Keep the measuring key M pressed down
and the meter will switch over to contrast
measurement. Continue holding down
the key to measure various other areas in
the subject. In the display, the difference
between the individual results of the
additional measurements and the first
measuring value will be indicated in EV.
A new metering will be made approx.
2 times a second.
After you have released the measuring key
M, the value of the first exposure measurement
will reappear. _________________ My flickr___ My Wix___ RailPictures |
