Yesterday I´ve purchased this lens from my local dealer. It´s in perfect shape, with no scratches or anything else on the body.
This lens is sharp wide open, equal to the later f3.5 versions. But it´s seems to me, that bokeh is different.

Best regards

Ingo

Here my samples, all f4.

Sorry Ingo, socks pbase doesn't show the included images. Please use instead of pbase anything else like built-in imageshack hosting. I have a pbase account too and I also can't link properly.

Hi!

I've also got two Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 4/135, one in silver finish and one "modern" version:

This lens is very good and it used to be my favourite 135mm lens (until I got the Jupiters and the Nikkor) Wink

Nice collection you have all important ones! I mean zebra and MC. I saw on your website a 180mm Olympic Sonnar ! A very few lens get 5 star mark from me Oly 180 is one of them. I have 5 pcs from this 180mm most of them very , very good but one is laser sharp at wide open.

The Zebra is the best one. Also in backlight situations no difference to the MC-version.
The 180 Olympic Sonnar is a very fine lens. It has a shorter focus distance, as the later medium format sonnars. But also visible purple fringing wide open in any situations.

I think also Zebra is the best one, I have no CLA in any situation with my 180mm Olympic Sonnars.

Hmmm, sharpness of my copy is very good. I will try it again in softer light.

My alu 135 Sonnar is very sharp, in spite of some little internal haze.
Probably without haze it could be even sharper.

Hello everybody!

I have bought a CZJ Sonnar 135 f4, it looks exactly like the lens on this image:

and I have this adapter (the left one) (I got it from "gadget infinity".)

It's a big pitty, that I can't focus to inifinity (just up to 30m). I would like to take starfield images with this lense. Anybody knows, how I could adjust it? There seems to be plenty of room for the lense to move more backward.

Kind regards
Konstantin

PS: I don't understand, why the forum won't show the images. I'm sorry!

Hello there,

I have the silver edition! I will make a test to face CZ and Takumar. CZ is only f/4, while Tak is f/3.5, but I really don't know which glass will perform best!

CZJ is older one made around 1950 don't know which one is better , but they are different that for sure. I like more CZJ lenses in same focal length than Takumars, but this is matter of taste only, both are great lenses.
