Lens has some bad CA, but it's a good alternative for an expensive birding lens. _________________ ---

If serial number started with 22.. that means made by Kiron I have two copies from them ,this means a very good lens In generally Vivitar lenses are not bad and not exceptional. Take a look on my Kiron 28-210mm galery. _________________ -------------------------------

My uncle has an old vivitar series 1 135mm lens for his old nikon. According to what I remember he told me, it's quite a good lens. But he hasn't used it for ages now... so I don't really remember any photos taken with it. |

This lens was OK, its main advantage was its great building quality, very robust! You could hammer a nail into a wall with this lens!
I think I have read somewhere that the Vivitar lens had a similar glass design, but I am not sure about it.
If you can get it for little money, it won't be wasted, but if you are looking for an excellent zoom lens, you should try to find a Tamron SP 3.5/70-210 or 3.8-4/80-200 - these are really good lenses! _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

I just picked up a Vivitar 35/2.8 earlier this week. When I was perusing the web looking for more info about it, I discovered that there are actually 2 versions of it--one has a 49mm filter diameter on it and the other has a 52mm filter diameter (mine is the 52mm made by Tokina).
I'm waiting on my EOS-m42 adapter to arrive so I can actually try the thing out.
